DURATION OF THE EXCURSION: 3 HOURS
The interesting history of the unique sea fortress of Suomenlinna, the beautiful seascapes of Helsinki, and a tasty lunch are all combined in this cruise package.
The departure is from the Market Square. The waterbus journey to the Main Quay of Suomenlinna takes approximately 15 minutes. An authorised guide will meet you at Suomenlinna and guide you to the middle of the 19th century Russian Era of the fortress. That is when the fortress started to become more of garrison town where one could meet Russian merchants in their small shops and Orthodox priests in the new Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky.Your group will also get a chance (unless a force majeure occurs) to visit the 19th century russian prison wing, which is usually closed to the public.
The duration of the guided walking tour is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. The tour will end in Tykistölahti, where your vessel will be waiting for your group. the cruise along the route of Charming Canal Cruise may then begin! During the cruise, you may admire the beautiful archipelago and se e.g. the unique Degerö Canal while enjoying the delicious lunch.

The rent of M/s Monica for 3 hours (departure from and arrival in the Market Square), soup buffet (Creamy salmon soup) + dessert and coffee, a guided walking tour lasting 1 hour 15 minutes in Suomenlinna (by Ehrensvärd Society) and VAT. Drinks will billed separately. The price will be slightly higher on Sundays and on midweek holidays due to the guided tour expences. |
